S.C.T.B. club was established in 2000. Our members currently include mountain bikers, hikers, The Southern Colorado Runners Club, Back Country Horsemen and Pueblo West Equestrian Association. Its purpose is to work with the Colorado state park personnel at Lake Pueblo State Park to develop a manageable trail system.
Before the development of the club, the trail system in existence consisted of a connection of old roads and trails that had been developed before the reservoir was built. This system lacked a management plan that addressed all the concerns of the land owner (U.S. Bureau of Reclamation). A grant was obtained and Arrowhead Trails Inc. was contracted to develop the current management plan. This plan will help us provide high quality recreational opportunities that emphasize sustainability, safety and environmental balance. S.C.T.B. members have given thousands of volunteer hours of labor in maintaining and constructing the trail system. We have also been responsible for developing and producing schematic maps of the area. We will continue our hard work and assist State Park personnel to develop a premier trail system at Lake Pueblo State Park.
